No matter what kind of skin you have, facial oil is beneficial. If you have acne prone or oily skin, it seems counterintuitive, right? Wrong! When you use facial oil, it tricks your skin into thinking it is producing the oil and will therefore naturally produce less oil. When you add essential oils, you can individualize to your own needs. Just wash your face, then add a few drops (I use 4) of your oil mixture and you’re all set! It is easy to add to your everyday skin routine and it is super easy to make.

Supplies needed for facial oil:

So for those who don’t know, you cannot apply a lot of essential oils directly to skin! They are way too concentrated, and always need to be added to a carrier oil. The proper dilution is normally 2-5% essential oil and 95-98% carrier oil.

For a carrier oil, I chose jojoba oil because it is good for all skin types, and personally I have an oily T zone. Vitamin E is also great for healing any acne scars and can lighten those dark circles under your eyes. The essential oil I chose was a “detox” combination of rosemary, lemongrass and juniper berry.

I filled the 1oz dropper bottle about 3/4 of the way up with jojoba oil.

And filled the rest of the bottle with Vitamin E oil

I then added 20 drops of essential oils, which is about a 3% dilution, totally in the safe range! After adding all of the ingredients, I put the cap on and rolled the bottle in my hands to mix the oils together. And voila, you’re done! Let me know how you’re enjoying the new addition to your skin routine.
